SO BO CO Girls Soccer vs. Richland

I'm quickly becoming a BIG fan of soccer. Yes, one of my sons plays, but I've always been a "baseball guy." From the intensity on the field, to the fans and the teamwork amongst players, this sport is fun if you're "watching" for the little moments!

ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN!

Wow! I'm impressed with the response and welcoming phone calls from the Southern Boone Community! Surprised? Not at all knowing the community like I do and how supportive everyone is. I only started my advertising campaign two weeks ago and it seems like everyone in town has now heard of the business...BUT, I'm still not sure everyone knows what "You've Been Shot!" is all about.
I've received more phone calls about shooting weddings than I did during my college days and sometimes wish I hadn't sold my "wedding equipment," BUT am very happy I am not dealing with the stress that comes along with that job. I'll leave all of that "wedding stuff" for my good friends at SilverBox Photography -- who, by the way, are in my opinion one of the best wedding photography companies in Missouri (and the world!). Check them out online at:  www.silverboxphotographers.com or www.silverboxphotographers.blogspot.com. Kim and Amy are AWESOME!
"You've Been Shot!" is more focused on shooting sporting events (soccer, baseball, basketball, volleyball, football, etc..) and other special events like family reunions, ShowMe State Games, rodeos, parades, festivals or organizational gatherings. If you're uncertain about event coverage, are wondering if we'll be covering an event that's happening in the community or just need more information...feel free to contact me!

Have YOU been shot?

Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a photographer. My first camera was a Kodak 110. Then I graduated to a 35mm Canon SLR only a few years later. I still have the memories I made during those days nearly 35 years ago...negatives and all! WOW!
Now EVERYTHING is digital. Amateurs can take photos that look professional. The cameras do most of the work for you! However, I still think there's a need for that person with "the eye" for the moment...a need for that photographer to capture that moment in time.
I graduated with a degree in Photojournalism from MU and have worked in the photography field all my life. I've shot for newspapers, both big and small. I've shot as a "freelancer photographer" for the likes of AP, Sports Illustrated, Sports Information, Sporting News, and others. I am married, have 2 kids, love taking pictures of my family life and decided a few years ago to offer my services to the Mid-Missouri community that I live in and love. Basically, I take event photos and offer them to the public...if they want them! No pressures!
I started "You've Been Shot!" in the fall of 2007 and have kept it a "secret" up until now. I wanted to get my business running seamlessly before it went wild and was introduced publicly...that time is now! I've partnered with Pictage to host my website links, photos and orders, but have chosen this BLOG site to communicate with the public.
This is how it works! I show up at a sporting or public event with a website link and password specifically made for that event. I have a load of business cards with that info on it...I'll pass them out...or if you see me, you'll ask me for one. When the event is over and all the moments have been captured, I edit the photos, upload them and post the event for public viewing (if you have the link and password). If you've received my link/password info, you'll need to register to view the photos. If you get there before the images are actually ready (by pre-registering), you'll receive coupons and/or discounts when or if you place an order. As soon as the images are ready, I'll send out an email telling you they're ready for viewing. The images are only available for a few months and then they are gone! At the website link, you can pick your favorites, order individual photos, enlargements, books, digital files, and a whole lot more! AND within 7-10 days, they'll arrive at your doorstep!
I also do portraits...family, individual, pets, seniors, etc! Send me an email at ybs.bkirmse@gmail.com to set up an event or if you have any questions about the biz, etc...
So, if you see me at an event...get one of my cards! YOU may have been shot!
